We are currently looking for college students to serve as a Systems Engineering Intern on challenging software development projects for a 10 week assignment over the summer of 2025.
Solipsys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace and an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.
Emphasis at this level is System integration and performance verification of software products. The successful candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies at our Fulton, Maryland office (in Maple Lawn). No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
Perform on the systems engineering team on tasks such as Software Integration, Regression Testing, Functional and Performance Requirements Verification, Defect Investigation and Correction Verification, and Automated Test Creation and Execution.
What You Will Learn:
Through this exciting summer assignment you will:
Learn the fundamentals of the Systems Engineering discipline.
Gain hands on experience testing and debugging state of the art Command and Control software.
Establish mentoring relationships with the brightest systems engineers in the business to help you build a solid foundation for your future as a professional engineer.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Proven knowledge of advanced mathematics principles, using calculus.
Previous experience as an intern or summer hire, working for a DoD contractor.
Knowledge of cybersecurity test methods for software.
Understanding of automated test methods and tools.
Understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques, and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
Working knowledge of Linux Operating System and Java and C++ software languages.
Ability to work with standard MS Office product suite applications.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
