Overview
The European Cyber Resilience Centre (ECRC) is a state-of-the-art cyber and security centre in Europe that drives collaboration between both public and private sectors, as well as regulatory bodies to further support enterprise resilience in the region.
Located in Waterloo, Belgium at Mastercard’s European Headquarters and is committed to addressing threats faced by the European payments ecosystem, including financial institutions and fintechs. The facility will serve as a single cybersecurity hub for the region, bringing together a diverse pool of talent from across Mastercard’s global community.
Working with various national cyber intelligence centres, industry groups, law enforcement agencies and central banks across Europe - ECRB, ECCFI, Europol, FS-ISAC, INTERPOL, NBB, and the UK’s NCA and NCSC - Mastercard’s European Cyber Resilience Centre helps drive better prevention and mitigation practices against international cybercrime and wider security threats. The centre will bring together both cyber and physical security experts.
The European Cyber Resilience Centre is looking for an Operations Manager to drive our strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about collaboration, communication, security, and culture. They will be highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possess a futurist mindset.
Role Summary
As the Operations Manager at the European Cyber Resilience Centre, you will be at the forefront of enhancing security across Europe's payments ecosystem and globally in partnership with similar centres established in North America and and Asia Pacific. Your role will involve:
• Promoting seamless intelligence sharing within Mastercard and with external partners to stay ahead of threats.
• Analyzing shared intelligence to maintain an up-to-date threat landscape.
• Leading a coordinated effort against cyber, fraud, and physical security threats by managing global resources effectively.
• Enhancing the Centre's capabilities in governance, processes, people, and technology for a robust cyber defense.
• Conducting large-scale preparedness exercises to ensure readiness and resilience.
• Advocating for continuous improvement in efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder protection.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships within the Centre, with clients, and across the public sector.
• Communicating complex security threats clearly to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Innovating and identifying solutions to emerging problems with a proactive approach.
About You
The ideal candidate for the Operations Manager position will possess:
• Exceptional communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness in both writing and speaking.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• A genuine passion for fostering an inclusive culture that emphasizes decency, collaboration, and teamwork.
• A track record of managing senior-level relationships and effectively mentoring team members.
• Practical experience in handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
• Proactive in identifying potential threats and risks, with the capability to articulate these concerns and offer balanced recommendations to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following cybersecurity disciplines: Fusion Center operations, Security Operations Center management, Network Security, Incident Response, Forensics, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Business Operations.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Security, Math, Decision Sciences, Risk Management, Engineering, Law, Public Policy, Foreign Relations, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
• Multi-lingual proficiency a plus.

Our hybrid approach gives us flexibility and achieves the right balance of in-person collaboration. We use Team Agreements, which is a principle-based, team-driven approach, to help teams specify when to come together in the office based on the type of work that needs to be done in support of our customers, company, and one another. Non-remote colleagues are expected to join the office an average of 3 days per week.
