As Enterprise Security Architect, you will be part of a team that supports the technology organization in embedding Cybersecurity into their products and services globally.
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain the enterprise security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Provide guidance and support for technology planning and decision-making processes.
Design and implement enterprise security architecture frameworks and standards, ensuring the integration of security controls into business processes, data, and applications.
Create and maintain technology roadmaps that outline the future direction of Visa’s security landscape and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements, including cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective security solutions that meet business requirements.
Establish and enforce governance processes to ensure adherence to enterprise security architecture standards and best practices, and conduct architecture reviews with recommendations for improvement.
Act as a liaison between business and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of architectural principles and guidelines, and provide expert advice and support to project teams.
Evaluate emerging security technologies and industry trends, including cloud and hybrid cloud security, to determine their potential impact on Visa’s security landscape, and make recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with security solutions, ensuring security and compliance requirements are integrated into the architecture design.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the enterprise security architecture, including diagrams, models, and guidelines, ensuring it is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain threat models to identify, assess, and prioritize potential security threats and vulnerabilities within Visa’s systems, applications, and infrastructure.
Provide training and mentorship to junior architects and other IT staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the architecture team.
Participate in integrating acquired entities into Visa's security architecture, ensuring seamless migration and expansion of acquired entity datacenters.
Contribute to the development and refinement of Technology Security Requirements (TSR) and Data Security Requirements (DSR), ensuring alignment with Visa’s security policies and standards.
This is a global role that involves reporting to a remote manager and collaborating with international teams.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD or relevant certification (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in an enterprise security architecture role.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-wide security solutions, with expertise in security architecture frameworks and methodologies.
• Strong technical knowledge of cloud and hybrid cloud computing, data architecture, security, and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and security information and event management (SIEM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements and develop effective security solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
• Understanding of business processes and the ability to align security solutions with business goals.
• Experience in financial services or a related industry is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest security trends and continuously improve skills.
• Certifications:
o CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, TOGAF, Zachman Framework
o Other relevant security certifications are a plus (e.g., CEH, GSEC, GCIA, etc.)
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,200.00 to 207,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
