Job Title: Vice President, Information Security – Cyber Observability
Location: 400 Bellevue Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19809
Job Duties: Assist and provide expert best practices in adoption, expansion, additional use cases and in setting up Cribl & Splunk. Support large-scale deployments with data feeds from a variety ofdata sources that include on premise data centers and cloud. Grow and improve the enterprise Splunk environment from early stages to a mature implementation by creating forwarderapps to ingest our data. Support and guide other colleagues across BlackRock that may include Splunk Administrators, Architects, Knowledge Managers, Developers and Users for increasing Splunk adoption and overall customer success. Act as the Splunk liaison for Splunk technical questions, issues or escalations. This will include working with Splunk Support,Product Management (i.e. roadmaps), or others as needed. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Understanding data pipelines and data routing within Cribl. Strong knowledge with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure. Create and maintain documentation related to architecture and operational processes for Splunk Engage application and infrastructure teams to establish best practices for utilizing Splunk data and visualization. Drive complex deployments of Splunk dashboards and reports whileworking side by side with the customers to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 60 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, Senior Splunk Admin/Architect, Splunk Engineer/Developer, Java Developer, or related role. Must have five years (60 months) of progressive, post-baccalaureate skills: 1. Architecting, supporting, and engineering a log management system using Splunk; 2. Maintaining a Smartstore in Azure and AWS, Splunk Cloud, and a multi- site cluster on-premise; 3. Utilizing Security Data sources for parsing, field extractions, line breaking, and good log hygiene; 4. Normalization into Splunk’s Common Information Model; Deep understanding of the Splunk software including multi-side clustering, smartstore, search head clustering, data buckets, heavy forwarders; and 5. Logging from Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. Must have three years (36 months) of experience in each of the following skills:1. Developing data pipelines with Cribl in a security mindset; and2. Zscaler, Corelight, Checkpoint, Cisco, and Syslog.
