The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to share your experience in detection engineering tosafeguard our nation? As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the tools needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions that will protect our military.
On our team, you’ll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of development and refinement of signatures, plays, policies, configurations, scripts, and indicators used to identify malicious or unauthorized activity via network and host-based detection on the enterprise network. You’ll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions.

What You’ll Work On:
- Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
- Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
- Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas, and leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience assisting with the development and refinement of signatures, plays, policies, configurations, scripts, and indicators used to identify malicious or unauthorized activity via network and host-based detection on the enterprise network
- 4+ years of experience supporting DCO or network systems and technology
- Experience leading operations and maintenance support for an enterprise-level network of up to 50k users
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or an IT field
- DoD 8570 CSSP Analyst Certification
- DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with host-based security administration and maintenance
- Experience with security orchestration and automation
- Experience with data correlation
- Experience with signature writing, including KQL, Snort, ePO, or Yara
- Knowledge of SIEM backend management, including data normalization and index management
- Completion of a Microsoft SC-XXX Training
- Completion of Microsoft Sentinel Ninja Training
- Completion of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Ninja Training
- Completion of Microsoft Defender for Identity Ninja Training
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
