Junior Cyber Security Engineer
Join our Engineering Team now and be part of our dynamically growing Citi Technology Team in Budapest!
Within Citi, the Global Infrastructure Defense Security Engineering Team is focusing on designing, developing, testing and architecting Citi’s next generation cyber security solutions across the globe.
In this role you will be responsible to research, develop and certify security strategies, products, architectures and best practices. You will also be responsible to define and influence key security strategy initiatives and deliver security solutions that will adhere to all enterprise security requirements with a potential to influence industry wide roadmaps.
As Junior Cyber Security Engineer you will:
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of Cisco ISE wired and wireless solutions, contributing to network access control and identity management initiatives.
- Support the implementation of 802.1X authentication protocols to ensure secure network access.
- Learn and contribute to the configuration and troubleshooting of TACACS and RADIUS protocols for authentication, authorization, and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with senior team members to integrate security solutions into the overall network architecture.
- Contribute to security assessments and vulnerability analyses, under guidance, and participate in the implementation of recommended remediation strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and support security requirements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation, processes, and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving technologies to support continuous improvement.
Ideal background:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Fluent English.
- Basic understanding of network security principles and protocols.
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in Cisco ISE, 802.1X, TACACS, and RADIUS.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and willingness to collaborate within a team.
- Passion for cybersecurity and a proactive approach to learning.
- Unix / Linux experience.
- Cisco 300-715 - Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine certification preferred.
- University / College degree in any STEM area or equivalent industry/technology knowledge.
