Within Citi, the Global Infrastructure Defense Security Engineering Team is focusing on designing, developing, testing and architecting Citi’s next generation cyber security solutions across the globe.
The Senior Cyber Security Engineer is a senior level position responsible to research, develop and certify security strategies, products, architectures and best practices. You will also be responsible to define and influence key security strategy initiatives and deliver security solutions that will adhere to all enterprise security requirements with a potential to influence industry wide roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
Be part of a global team defining next generation security architectures and standards like WAAP, DDOS protection and more.
Research and develop industry leading security architectures that integrates with Citi's existing standards.
Identify threats and risks impacting the architecture or solutions and define protective controls.
Drive strategic initiatives to enhance security and governance practices.
Write and publish designs, architecture standards, test results and best practice guides for the global audience.
Validate security products to determine product capabilities and limitations – including end-to-end complex security architectures.
Hands-on evaluation and certification of emerging network security technologies.
Ideal background:
University / College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent industry/technology knowledge.
Master’s degree preferred.
6-10 years of relevant experience in security engineering or architect role.
Information security industry recognized certifications from relevant certification bodies such as ISC2 (e.g. CISSP, CCSP).
Deep understanding of security principles, practices and standards.
Experience with multiple security disciplines including strong understanding of network security.
Experience in design and implementation of network security systems.
Experience with leading on premise and cloud security solutions (e.g. WAAP, DDOS protection).
Ability to learn and understand new technologies and systems.
Ability to drive and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
Ability to work and collaborate with several stakeholders and teams.
Excellent English communication skills.
Unix/Linux and Scripting (Python/Perl/Bash) experience is a plus.
