LSEG Security Operations is a central function employing people, process and technology to continuously monitor and respond to cyber security incidents. Security Operations spans multiple domains including cyber threat intelligence, cyber threat detection, data loss prevention and cyber incident response.
This role is responsible for the deployment, build, and administration of Security Operations infrastructure. The role will also support the application layer of syslog, log collection and transportation, and SIEM technologies where required.
This role sits within Security Analytics and Automation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, build, and deploy infrastructure to improve and expand the organisation’s security analytics technologies and platforms.
· Support and maintain the SIEM, data analytics and security log collection syslog infrastructure.
· Design, build and enhance the detection capabilities through the design, implementation and ongoing tuning of detection platforms and tooling.
· Create tactical and strategic integrations between source systems and security analytics tooling.
· Manage the intake of data feeds and integrations into the SIEM and other platforms.
· Create and maintain operational documentation of design patterns and standards for security analytics, and for the security analytics platforms.
· Upskill and support junior members of the team!
· Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to demonstrate platform performance.
Technical and Functional Knowledge:
· Extensive experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, C#, Python, PowerShell, C, C++.
· Extensive experience building and deploying platforms, infrastructure, and services in public cloud and virtualisation environments.
· Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies including AWS and Azure.
· Demonstrable understanding of networks including the TCP/IP stack, typical organisation architectures, and common protocols.
· Experience with administering, maintaining, patching, and improving infrastructure platforms from operating system through to application.
· Experience using products such as Jenkins, Cloudbees, Gitlab, or similar.
· Experience with organisational change procedures and production release processes.
· Knowledge of common logging formats and methods of transporting logs across a network.
Business and Sector Experience:
· Experience and knowledge of cyber security in global financial services and/or regulated environments.
· Experience working in a security engineering, devops, or devsecops role
