We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Counsel to join our legal team in the Ethics & Compliance Office. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel and Ethics & Compliance Leader, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our firm adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, with particularly emphasis on sanctions, regulatory compliance, and conflicts of interest protocols.Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a Compliance Counsel, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conflicts Specialist: Identify, assess, and manage conflicts of interest within the organization. Develop and enforce policies and procedures to prevent and address potential conflicts. Work with key business and One Firm Risk leaders to respond to instances of conflict of interest, perceived conflicts and special situations in accordance with local and Network requirements.
Sanctions Specialist: Ensure that the firm complies with all applicable sanctions laws and regulations. Work closely with Client Risk function in One Firm Risk as well as the Chief AML Officer to review and address sanctions flags.
Regulatory Compliance: Review and implement new or changes to regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with local, national, and network regulations. Work with members of the E&C function to ensure key controls are set up to address regulatory requirements.
Lobbying: Working closely with the lobbying SME, craft proactive monitoring and consultative program for lobbying inquiries; ensure lobbying policies are up to date; and support with registration activities as required.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of compliance requirements.
Reporting: Prepare reporting on key metrics of compliance with regulatory and Network requirements as requested by the Ethics and Compliance Leader.
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Experience in a compliance-related legal role, with a focus on sanctions, regulatory compliance, and conflicts of interest.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and practical approach to identifying and addressing risks.
