OnsiteRTX BBN Technologies (BBN) is seeking a passionate and skilled Cyberspace Capability Developer to contribute to the research and development of next-generation capabilities in the cyber and electromagnetic warfare (EW) domain. This role spans a range of exciting and impactful projects, fromexploit, implant, and payload development to software integration for mission-critical systems.
BBN solves challenging Cyber/EW type problems of high importance to our customers in the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and Industry. Our team specializes in developing cutting-edge technologies by combining a fundamental understanding of cyber-physical systems with facilities to conduct advanced research and development via modeling, simulation, experimentation, test, and analysis.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze systems to understand how they work and what happens when they break.
- Disassemble and analyze binary code.
- Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development.
- Develop unique networking protocols and communication schemes.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results.
- Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems.
- Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations
- Overnight travel required for certain projects.
Qualifications You Must Have
- A BS degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or MS plus 3 years, or PhD. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Solid, creative programming skills using one or more of: C/C++ or Python.
- Experience with some assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.).
- Vulnerability research experience.
- Reverse engineering skills using a tool such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, wire-level protocols, BGP, RF communications, etc.).
- Top Secret clearance required day one with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
- OS kernel development experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android).
- Network programming skills.
- Hardware emulation experience.
- Working knowledge of RF signal processing and algorithm development
- Hands on experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership.
- Active TS/SCI clearance

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
