We are seeking a skilled and experienced Platform/DevOps Engineer to help us implement and support Zscaler and additional security platforms. As Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that support our organization's security environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments, automate processes, and optimize performance to meet our security and networking needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs security, compliance, and risk assessments on projects throughout project lifecycle.
- Collaborates and participates on identification of security needs & recommends plans/resolutions. Implements, tests & monitors info security improvements.
- Maintains visibility inside & outside of info security at an Engineering professional level. Collaborate with groups such as end user support, service desk, development teams, etc.
- Help deliver security solutions across the organization.
- Familiarity with implementation of various threat modeling approaches pertaining to one or more of the following STRIDE, PASTA, TRIKE, ATTACK TREE, DREAD, KILL CHAIN, CAPEC, Mobile Application threat model, Cyber Threat Tree, and data flow diagram
- Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Design and implement the infrastructure required to support our Zscaler environment and other production security environments. Collaborate with network and security teams to architect scalable and highly available solutions. Configure and deploy security components such as web security, data loss prevention, cloud application security, and SSL inspection.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment: Establish and maintain a robust and efficient CI/CD pipeline for deploying security updates and configurations. Automate the deployment process, including testing, monitoring, and rollback mechanisms. Continuously improve the deployment pipeline to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Configuration Management: Develop and maintain configuration management processes and tools for managing Zscaler configurations and other production security environments. Ensure consistency and version control across the infrastructure. Automate configuration changes and enforce compliance with security policies and standards.
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues within the Zscaler environment. Monitor system performance, network traffic, and security events. Optimize platform performance through capacity planning, load balancing, and fine-tuning configurations.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with security and network teams to investigate and resolve incidents related to the security platform. Troubleshoot issues with connectivity, performance, and security. Develop and maintain runbooks and playbooks for incident response and recovery procedures.
- Security and Compliance: Work closely with security teams to ensure production security configurations align with security policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Perform security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests. Implement security controls, access management, and encryption mechanisms as needed.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security analysts, and developers, to ensure smooth integration of new security platforms into the overall infrastructure. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Share knowledge and provide training to team members on all platform operations and standard processes.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years’ Experience in info security technology or related field
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer in major Fortune 500 or bigger company.
- Strong knowledge of multiple security subject areas
- Some knowledge of critical security elements, threats, vulnerabilities, and safeguards
- Knowledge of information security policies and regulatory controls (per team function)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate internally, upward, and cross functionally; ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members to gain support required to accomplish assignments; able to build coalitions.
- Always act with tact and integrity, and communicate with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner.
- Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and multitask.
- Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with network routing and switching.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks to complete independently; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
- Knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of info security.
- 2-4 years’ Experience working in a large enterprise.
- 2-4 years’ Experience in a dedicated security engineering role
- Presentation skills to large and small audiences.
- Subject matter expert in a few facets of network & information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, vulnerability analysis & mitigation, and other topics as assigned.
- Understanding of T-Mobile’s network elements and how they work together (EIT, Engineering & 3rd Party).
- Knowledge of federal & compliance regulations e.g. SOX, PCI & CPNI
- Knowledge of Scripting tools (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Technology. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree might be considered.
License/Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- CISSP and/or CCSK and/or CCSP and/or CISA/CISM certification a plus
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Base Pay Range: $70,300 - $126,800
Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
